KidSight, Fall 2016

The Idaho Springs Lions Club participates in the KidSight program to screen the vision of preschool children.  This year we will have made 15 visits to 12 different schools and daycares to screen 500 children.

Pumpkin Smash

An organization, Scraps to Soil, in Idaho Springs promotes sustainable practices including composting. The Lions Club has supported their efforts.

Each year, Scraps to Soil holds a Pumpkin Smash on the Saturday after Halloween to promote composting the pumpkins.  But first, everyone has to have fun smashing the pumpkins with everything from a giant hammer to a catapult.

The event has become a major "happening" in town.  The Lions Club had a booth at the event this year, with a good chance to publicize who we are and what we do.


Lions Laura and Barb did all the work, and Lion Jim stopped by for a little while.
